Commentaries and Concordances
GSB: 12:11 Doth not the ear {f} try words? and the mouth taste his meat?
(f) He exhorts them to be wise in judging, and as well to know the right use of their God-given ears, as well as their mouths.
WES: 12:11 Doth not - This may be a preface to his following discourse; whereby he invites them to hear and judge of his words candidly and impartially; that they and he too might agree in disallowing what should appear to be false, and owning of every truth.
MHC: 12:6-11 Job appeals to facts. The most audacious robbers, oppressors, and impious wretches, often prosper. Yet this is not by fortune or chance; the Lord orders these things. Worldly prosperity is of small value in his sight: he has better things for his children. Job resolves all into the absolute proprietorship which God has in all the creatures. He demands from his friends liberty to judge of what they had said; he appeals to any fair judgment.
