NASB: For if the inheritance is based on law, it is no longer based on a promise; but God has granted it to Abraham by means of a promise. (NASB ©1995) GWT: If we have to gain the inheritance by following those laws, then it no longer comes to us because of the promise. However, God freely gave the inheritance to Abraham through a promise. (GOD'S WORD®) KJV: For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.
