NASB: 'The cities shall be to you as a refuge from the avenger, so that the manslayer will not die until he stands before the congregation for trial. (NASB ©1995) GWT: These cities will be places of refuge from any relative who can avenge the death. So anyone accused of murder will not have to die until he has had a trial in front of the community.
