(NASB ©1995) GWT: If these sacrifices could have made the worshipers perfect, the sacrifices would have stopped long ago. Those who worship would have been cleansed once and for all. Their consciences would have been free from sin. (GOD'S WORD®) KJV: For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. ASV: Else would they not have ceased to be offered? because the worshippers, having been once cleansed, would have had no more consciousness of sins.
