Amen Christ Grace

16:24 {6} The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with you all. Amen.

(6) Now taking his leave of them this third time, he wishes that to them, upon which all the force of the former doctrine depends.

16:24 The grace of our Lord. At the close of his greetings, Paul adds his benediction. He had already given it in Ro 16:20. It is now written with his own hand (2Th 3:17). He also adds a doxology (Ro 16:25-27), which makes a noble conclusion.

16:21-24 The apostle adds affectionate remembrances from persons with him, known to the Roman Christians. It is a great comfort to see the holiness and usefulness of our kindred. Not many mighty, not many noble are called, but some are. It is lawful for believers to bear civil offices; and it were to be wished that all offices in Christian states, and in the church, were bestowed upon prudent and steady Christians.
